None of the January transfer window business completed by the club would have been possible without the direct financial support of two local businesses.
Fife AutoCentre and Bodywyse Autocare, whose principals Brian Meechan and Harry Younger are both staunch Raith Rovers fans, have been greatly impressed by the progress being made under Ray McKinnon this season and wanted to help directly in order to strengthen the squad where required during the January window.
Their 5-figure investment was added to the already spent player budget, thereby allowing the manager to bring in firstly Louis Longridge, followed by Aidan Connollyand finally Harry Panayiotou just before the window closed.
Chief Executive Eric Drysdale commented, “The club is very grateful to both Brian and Harry for their contribution. It’s tremendous that the business community is once more getting behind their local football club. I know Ray is most appreciative of the guys’ help and it gives him greater strength and depth which will be vital in the run-in. This is a great way for businesses to get behind Raith Rovers, and if anyone is interested in discussing how they might help in this way, or any other, please can they contact either Commercial Director Tom Morgan, Commercial Manager Laura Andreucci or myself at the club on 01592 263514 for an initial chat.”
